Unlocking the secrets of your mind

Where do our thoughts come from and where do they go?
They all originate in the same place. The real question is: what are our thoughts, and are they really ours in the first place? Let’s examine some of these questions. Thoughts represent an intangible form of energy very similar to electricity. This energy exits all around us. It is easily generated and it is a part of the life force of all living things and has been called several names by many cultures. The form of life energy called chi by ancient cultures that permeates all things is part of that matrix of energy to which thought belongs. We harness this energy in an individual way and use this energy to create tangible objects that are evident all around us. Visible structures such as buildings, cars and other physical objects represent the final outcome of a thought or idea. The thought was not used up or consumed by being applied to the creation of a physical object. Another analogy may be appropriate here. People and cars utilize roads for transportation and their progress is achieved by the traction that they apply to this surface nevertheless they do not consume the road. The road remains when the traffic is gone. The road represents the medium that the thoughts occupy. The pedestrians and the vehicles represent the ideas. If thoughts represent a form of energy where do they go and do our thoughts disappear once they originate? Thoughts and ideas are a very dynamic form of energy, however they are not unique and are constantly interacting with that infinite pool of energy that has always been present and are a part of this amorphous energy that flows around and through all of us. They are separate, but at the same time a part of a larger system. Thinking affects the flow of this energy and all who use it without consuming it or depleting it in any way. The changes resulting from the thoughts that we have are not affected by time and space and are very distinct, even though not yet measurable. No doubt, in time it will certainly be possible to harness thoughts, record them and even replay them as easily as it is possible to record the human voice. Positive thoughts will always be creative and have been shown to change and affect living cells. Those who will come after us will benefit from the positive thoughts that we are having right now.

Things fall apart

It is sometimes called the domino effect. It is a cascade of unpredictable events that seem to occur in unison and occupy a particular point in time. Sometimes the result is a life-changing event and at other times the events are trivial and of little consequence. These events all tend to be very similar. They may be described lightly as bloops and blunders and seem to be contagious and may even be laughable. Quite often you just count these little events and wait until they are over. There is a phase of existence a point in time when you can identify a pattern of events that seem all to bear the same identity almost as if coloured by a ray of light. At other times there is one unique incident that portends great hardship and signals the start of change. It seems to be the herald of like happenings to follow; and in some cultures is even called an omen. There is even the situation of the group effect where individuals who share the same group or who form part of a firm or family are often enveloped in the cloud of cyclical events that affect one individual from that group and gradually spread like a contagion within that group. Interestingly it also seems to be the fate of nations. Sometimes a nation that appears to stand tall and has had the fortune over time of avoiding significant catastrophe has an encounter with misfortune and that event marks the start of a cascade of ill luck that continues until the contagion is expunged from the system and the nation once again resumes its forward course. It is important to recognize these moments since they do arise without warning and cannot be avoided. The recognition of this phenomenon allows one to apply the same approach and solution to resolving these situations because they are very similar and can be treated in the same manner. An encouraging observation though is that the cyclical nature of the universe always provides opportunity to rebuild all that has been altered and often with new life and improved vitality.

Dark Matter

"Dark matter"

Life functions in a sphere of the known and the unknown. There are corners to everything that we can’t see around. There is day and there is night. There are tomorrows and there are yesterdays, there is the beginning of a journey and there is the end. We are exposed to experiences that our senses and consciousness allow us to appreciate and yet the majority of our reality is unknown and unseen. Our reality seems to make sense to us but only to an extent. We ponder about all those whys and sometimes wonder at the magnitude of it all. Despite all that is missing from the picture it all still makes sense. The picture of our reality is consistent. It could not be any other way. An inconsistent reality is not conceivable. There have to be other realities but for that to be apparent to us we would have to be able to be a part of them. The fact that we are not able to be a part of these other realities is not an indictment in itself and does not suggest that the small fraction that we see does not make sense. This unseen “dark matter” is actually the most important part of our existence. It exists; and even though we may never be able to understand much about the unseen environment it somehow validates the aspect of life that we can see and appreciate.
If we appreciate this “dark matter” as a part of our present reality we can enhance our appreciation of this reality. We will realize immediately that death is a form of birth. We will also realize that we all are a form of energy really like a beam of light that has always existed. It traverses the universe and illuminates all in its path for a moment and then moves on. Others can only be aware of the light when they fall within the reach of the beam and are illuminated. When it passes it has not died. It continues to strike a path and illuminate others. Sometimes we stop and wonder about the origins of this light. When did it first appear and how long did it travel before it reached us?

Add sparkle to your life

Thoughts are your constant companion. They are the most important part of your make up and instill the essence of your individuality to make you just who you are. This is so because like everything in life you are benefiting or subject to the content of your thinking. Positive thoughts also do not occupy space in your consciousness without a consequence. They are finite: just like tangible objects they contribute to their environment or they detract from that environment, but they certainly are not existing without exerting a presence and they also extract a price for the time that they are spending with you. Just like a physical contract for occupancy they are not and cannot live rent free in your head. Every good thought or idea has extracted something from you in the same way that it has contributed something. This is the law of nature. There is nothing that can be considered to be free. Conversely, a bad thought by its own presence lays waste all the good that is there. Like an incorrect piece of a jigsaw puzzle it disturbs the entire picture. It also extracts a price from you for harbouring this thought in the first place. All negative thoughts and influences disturb the space that they occupy. They demand a price for their tenancy that is exorbitant. Negative thoughts can come in the form of rumours, innuendos, news, or even light gossip, but they all have the same result.
You have to pay a price for their keep. Are you prepared to pay this price?

The Possibility Principle

The Possibility Principle
There is no time like the present because time does not exist. Really, there is no such thing as time.
There is a spatial relationship between everything in the universe and that applies to the things that we see and even the things that we do not see. This spatial relationship maintains symmetry. Even our very thoughts are formed within this system and are all interrelated and cannot function outside of it. They behave like a living organism. That means that we are all interacting with each other and all the elements in the universe constantly. It also means that our thoughts and actions are all sharing a predictable or more realistically a mathematical relationship to each other. This admixture of thoughts and their subsequent actions result in a large number of interactions. But the number is not infinite. For any single thought or event that arises from that thought, there is only one outcome and we refer to this outcome as the “future”. A “future” that results in a successful or appropriate or predictable outcome is accepted as right or correct and represents that one outcome. It just seems to fit and make sense. A “future” that is adverse is viewed as a disaster or simply as something that did not work out. It is perverse. Because the reality in which we live results in a view of things happening in sequence we will always have a perception that time separates events, when in truth they are not separated at all. The theory of relativity has clearly given some understanding of time and space. The “future” as we call it is not some mysterious distant event that is completely hidden that we will just stumble upon or read about in a few years time. If we could interpret the clues that are around us now we would indeed predict the “future”. In fact we could clearly determine what the future would be i.e. within the matrix of possibilites. We can clearly add to this “future” by intentionally putting new thoughts or things into the mix. We can rearrange our thoughts and the things around us, (that is the meaning of feng shui) and this will increase and improve our possibilities. The next time that you have a bad experience or encounter an adverse outcome, go back to the beginning and analyse just what took place at the inception, even the originating thought, and you will find the clue that would have predicted that “future”. Now that you know this, you can change your beginnings. That’s where you have control, some control.

The tree of life

They can't move. They accept whatever happens and they are not even concerned with other trees, yet they have survived for millennia. They have validated a distinctive evolutionary principle namely that of the feasibility of survival by adaptation and utilization of the resources available to them. They seem to illustrate that all the means of survival are always at hand and that survival and success are possible with all the natural elements that are present around them. They could not have germinated from a tiny seed and made such dramatic progress based solely on the basis of chance. They also demonstrate another interesting principle and that is that unpredictable events and even mistakes have really no long term consequence and are not important at all. Take a look at their successes. The visible shoots, flowers and fruits are beautiful to behold but are transient. They are entirely dependent on the roots. Growth will come but is entirely dependent on how well the roots have been placed. They are for most trees invisible and in most cases develop long before the tree blossoms and they seem to lack that visible glamour that demands acclaim. There is another fascinating observation that can be made. Trees seem to revel in anonymity. It is true that some are unique and they do not live forever but they seem to form a uniform mosaic that that has remained unchanged over time. They are part of a larger picture that cannot die.
